I’ve been incredibly fortunate to photograph at a variety of weddings over the last few years. Some are large, elaborate celebrations full of people and lots of energy, and occasionally I find myself in smaller, intimate gatherings of close family and friends, where I was two weekends ago.
I had the privilege of photographing, as a guest, at the wedding of my friends Dana and Danilo in Bellingham, WA, in the house where Dana grew up. Their photographer was Dana's talented friend, Gabriel, from Gabriel Boone Photography. The guests included Dana's friends from childhood, a number of relatives, and Danilo's best friend, Emmanuele, who traveled all the way from their hometown: Squinzano, Italy. Stuart, the father-of-the-bride, gave a beautiful toast in which he discussed his own marriage that took place in his childhood home in Chicago. While he and his wife were building their home in Bellingham over twenty years ago, Stuart hoped that one of his children would be married there one day. After seeing the look on his face all day, I am certain it was worth the wait.
It was a true honor to be present at this event among so many amazing people. Congratulations Dana and Danilo ~ You are on a beautiful journey.
Cinda & Stuart called Danilo's parents in Italy at the end of the night to officially welcome them to the family! Lots of laughs were shared while they practiced their Italian over the phone.
