Amanda, why aren't you blogging?

Because I've been (and continue to be) proooooooofing and editiiiiiiiiiing!!!  Here are some of the beautiful children whose slideshows have gone up in the past week.  They'll all have individual blog posts eventually, but right now my main goal is to send every family the initial gallery login!  Enjoy these beautiful, sweet faces:

After the Beautiful Year, the documenting continues!

After completing this family's Beautiful Year in the spring (remember these?), I was hoping to be able to photograph them on my fall Seattle trip ~ and hooray, here they are!  I can't compliment this family enough:  They are always so sweet, the kids are wonderfully fun at their sessions and the boys have the most loving big sister who takes time to read them stories.  In fact, capturing one of these storytime moments turned into one of my very favorite images from this fall.

Also, we've had all four sesions at home and each time I leave, all three kids prop themselves on the back of the couch and wave goodbye as I head down the driveway.  It is just the sweetest sight...Thanks so much, Jason and Cara, for inviting me into your home to photograph your beautiful family.

I love that they invited the nanny in for one of the family portraits ~ so thoughtful and a great memory for everyone.

Beautiful Year, Beautiful Birthday Girl

Happy first birthday to this precious little girl!  This is her final session in the Beautiful Year series and what a beautiful year it's been.  I met her when she was just a tiny two week old and then saw her again at four, eight and twelve months old.  It's been amazing to capture her various milestones at each session...and I do think having your first birthday cupcake is a pretty big milestone (see below). : )

Thanks so much, Moraiya and Chris, for inviting me into your home to create lasting memories for your family.  I look forward to working with you on your wall galleries!

Oh, and yes, this is the same little girl currently in the top photo of the blog.

Fall Leaves...Everywhere

I was in heaven at this photo session!  We had beautiful afternoon light and an incredible amount of leaves on the ground...not to mention two of the most photogenic girls.  You may recognize them from this post in the spring:  Beautiful Sisters.  Take a peek and look at how much they've grown since then!

This is the third session in their Beautiful Year series and what a wonderful year it's been.  Thank you to Tiffany and Jim for asking me to be their photographer...I have loved every second.

Fall at Green Lake

You may remember this precious guy from one of my first blog posts: at 3 weeks. Look at him now at 7 months!  We had a wonderful fall session with lots of colorful leaves and smiles.  He has a full head of bright blonde hair, the ability to sit on his own, and a contagious smile.  He's still tiny and I loved emphasizing this by photographing him on one of the Green Lake docks.   Next year, he'll probably be walking on it by himself (with parents close by, of course!).

The Collection Album

I adore this album and created a collage to show people what it looks like before they see it at their ordering appointment. It has also been helpful for grandparents who want to purchase the collection of 5x7's but aren't sure what the album and presentation box look like as they live out-of-town and aren't able to meet with me in person.

Another year, Another favorite series

I photographed this little girl this time last year and it was one of my favorite sessions of the summer.  She and her wonderful parents have done it again for me this year. : )

At two years old, little N ran and ran for much of the session, really keeping me on my toes!  I love the energy she has and the 6th photo down shows how she was leading the way for the portraits...always staying one step ahead, even while holding her teddy bear. 

We started the photo session at home in the kitchen where we started last year.  I adore the light that comes in through the windows there and it was so wonderful to see the series of wall portraits hanging there from last year.  As much as N had changed in the past year, her sweet expressions remain the same.  Thank you, K, W & N for such a wonderful session.  I hope you enjoy this preview and then your slideshow!

What a fun age! Portraits at the Arboretum...

I met this family at the Washington Arboretum one afternoon recently for their session. 5 1/2 year old A kept me smiling the entire time! He had such a wonderful variety of expressions and was up for just about anything, as were his mom and dad who even climbed a tree for a family portrait (how fun!).

The Arboretum is the perfect place for sessions right now and having the weather be as nice as it's been lately is a bonus. We found several great places for family portraits: along Azalea Way, on a park bench and in and under the trees. A found lots of fun places for his portraits, too: in the flowers, among the tree branches, with his dog and in the arms of his parents. I couldn't get enough of his contagious laugh. Look at the fourth photo down and you're guaranteed a smile!

Thanks so much for a great session to A, Mom, Dad and the family dog. I had a great time with you guys and look forward to sending you the login to your online gallery.

Beautiful Year, Beautiful Colors

I met this little guy last year when he was only 7 weeks old. One of my most vivid memories from that photo shoot was his ability to maintain eye contact with me throughout the session. He hasn't changed a bit! Though he was fascinated with the dandelions and other flowers at the Washington Arboretum on this particular morning, he still looked my way several times, allowing his beautiful blue eyes to catch the sunlight...and for me to catch his looking. : )

This is absolutely one of my most colorful sessions of the year. Not only was the grass beautiful shades of bright greens while the flowers gave various pinks, whites and yellows to the backgrounds, but the clothing colors chosen by the parents couldn't have been better! Their blue and red-orange shirts...and jeans... complemented each other so well and contrasted perfectly against the spring greens. Two thumbs up to this family for clothing choices!

I have so enjoyed all three sessions with this family. From seeing tiny baby E resting quietly over his dad's shoulder last spring, to sitting up in the sand in the fall, to walking and running around in the grass this spring...the changes have been amazing to say the least.
